Italian Department

The Italian Department at Millbank consists of lawyers with many years experience in assisting English and international clients investing in Italy or transactions with an Italian aspect.

Our team offers assistance at all stages, from the commencement of negotiations to their conclusion. We provide Legal Opinions on Italian company and property law within the context of cross border transactions, ensuring our clients understand the differences between the two jurisdictions, allowing our clients to make strategic decisions.

We provide Expert Opinions on Italian Civil, Commercial (including insolvency) and Private International Law for use in Court proceedings and arbitrations.

We have a network of lawyers, accountants and notaries in Italy with whom we work. We co-ordinate and supervise complex, commercial and corporate transactions or litigation involving Italy and or Italian law. We can assist and advise on acquisitions, mergers, restructurings, contentious civil and commercial law matters, insolvency and debt restructuring.

We regularly advise on international aspects of Inheritance and in its international context, provide opinions on Italian law to obtain Letters of Administration from the Probate Registry of the Family Division of the High Court of England & Wales.

We have a particular strength in assisting clients in the UK to acquire commercial, investment or residential properties in Italy, advising on all aspects of the transaction.
